I-L38 is not British nor Celtic, it's presence in Europe predates formation of Celts. It was also found in Urnfield -

haplotree.info - ancientdna.info. Map based on All Ancient DNA v. 2.07.26.

Either made its way to Britain and Italy during Urnfield expansion or during Hallstatt (Italy more likely) or later Germanic people

I was referring specifically to my subclade of l-38 being mostly found in the British Isles.

Oh my bad. This particular line was likely Celtic, La Tene. Looks like they migrated to Britain during iron age -

The same happens to me with my subclade of U106.

Probably the best thing to do is determine the MRCA with people bearing the same haplogroup. If those are Northern Europeans and the MRCA is around the late Roman empire / early Middle Ages, then it's likely that it entered Italy during the Germanic migrations.

You should join the L-38 facebook group/ ftDNA group. Loads of research done and you can get help if you want to know more. Where does your paternal lineage come from?
