I2a2b/L38 in Italy?

I was referring specifically to my subclade of l-38 being mostly found in the British Isles.

Oh my bad. This particular line was likely Celtic, La Tene. Looks like they migrated to Britain during iron age -

"From their homeland, La Tène culture expanded in the 4th century BCE to more of modern France, Germany, and Central Europe, and beyond to Hispania, northern and central Italy, the Balkans, and even as far as Asia Minor, in the course of several major migrations. La Tène style artefacts start to appear in Britain around the same time,[21] and Ireland rather later."

The same happens to me with my subclade of U106.

Probably the best thing to do is determine the MRCA with people bearing the same haplogroup. If those are Northern Europeans and the MRCA is around the late Roman empire / early Middle Ages, then it's likely that it entered Italy during the Germanic migrations.
i did my 23andme test it says im on il38 paternal haplogroup

You should join the L-38 facebook group/ ftDNA group. Loads of research done and you can get help if you want to know more. Where does your paternal lineage come from?
