Ooh, Wheal. I am also a Spaniel lover! I get the same peoples, although Franks are my number one (not surprising, as most of my German ancestors came from the old stem duchy of Franconia. I though, have a springer spaniel. I match Cheddar Man (autosomally, as I have farmer mtdna and steppe y-dna) in the DNA spotlight; interestingly I have a great-great-great-great-grandfather born in Bath, Somerset, not too far from Cheddar.
