I knew he had Irish roots from his mother-side but looks even from his paternal line he had British (potentially Irish)

Very interesting for Muhammad Ali. And what's even more so is that his main clade (R1b-Z253 > L1066/Z2183 > Z2186) is the same branch as George Washington.

However that's a big clade. Muhammad Ali's deepest known clade on The Big Tree is R-Z40246, which matches the surnames Saban and Snell, both from England. Saban is a rare surname (see distribution map) found mostly in Southeast England, especially around London.

Hey Maciamo, I had requested a source on the Skenderbeg clade a couple of times now, as have other members. I have seen your post quoted on other ends of the internet. So I think a source is due.

Someone sent me the information on Facebook.

Was looking at his fight with Joe Frazier, it's funny how Muhammad Ali made such a huge propaganda against Joe, insulting him in every possible way. Like the "the white man's champion", "gorilla", "ugly", he was quite nasty, didn't knew this.

That left hook Joe gave him on their first fight, should have knocked him out and to not get up at all, but he got up in his feet immediately, Muhammad Ali could take a proper beating, what a chin. I think taking a beating, being resilient is what separates boxer champions from the rest, like Mike Tyson was definitely way more powerful than Muhammad Ali, but he couldn't take a proper beating. Once hit so hard, it was done for him.

I am also impressed by boxers training routine (Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson mainly, although the latter lifted weights during his prison time), they rarely lift weights, they mostly do calisthenics and aerobic/cardio exercises. It tells you why people especially bodybuilders hate cardio/aerobic exercises the most, because it's way harder not that it's not effective.

Muhammed Ali was a menace. 😄 But here is the only instance were a reporter roasted him, he says I am the prettiest, the reporter: Hold on, hold on, you are not that pretty.

But i truly think his fights with Sonny Liston were setup by Mafia, he could never beat Sonny Liston, that guy was too much for Ali to handle, everyone was afraid of Sonny Liston (very likely the scariest boxer to ever live) this of course doesn't take away the greatness of Ali. He is likely the best athlete of 20th century, extremely eloquent and charismatic and funny. His punching power was not great though, but his cardiovascular endurance and speed was spectacular. Also his positive self-talk is something to behold.

He said a lot of things to upset white people, and stick with his black community (but at the end of the day he was a salesman), it's actually interesting and ironic he ended up having British male line.

This is the fight that made Ali what he would became the Ali we knew, if he failed all that trash-talking would have bitten him back, and probably we wouldn't even hear from him too much like we do.

More about Ali, his inspiration for his trash talking and hyping his fight was the American wrestler Gorgeous George.

He explains it here
