My new result, I lost all the NW europe which was around 35%, and Balkan and Greek got boosted, I didnt have any Greek before, and Balkan was around 40%

Balkan 66.7%
EE 21.1%
Greek 11.2%
Balt 1%

Interestingly my east euro is mainly Austria(Burgenland) which has Croat minority

And Greek & Albania are Albanians from MN and Shokder, which are in general closest to South Slavs

So I really dont know how to read this, basically my non Balkan components are Balkan components

Anyway my match for Florence, Bologna and Ravenna is real as my 50% mother side comes from above florence nearby the Appennines

Friuli and Sao Paulo are instead a surprise

Why is there so much "Breton" in the results I've seen online?

Even I get a small percentage .
I kind of noticed that too.

I get Brittany as a genetic group match in 23&Me V5 as well:

As for myself I don't think I have any documented ancestors from there. I write it off as a misread/overlap with Celtic British Isles populations.

If your ancestry is Tuscan why have they given you more Southern than Northern Italy? Friuli in NE Italy too???
Do you trust this ethnicity estimate?
well, at least i trust the fact they gave me the match with florence-bologna--ravenna people, as that is real, as it s my mother 50% half (she comes from those places: mugello)

for the ethnicities its all a surprise, especially Dutch and Egyptian

Yes, i have it but it requires a paid subscription to Myheritage, so i have not tried it, also it would be identical to illustrativeDna. I think it is a collaboration between the two companies.

My new results:

Greece and Albania: 67.5%
Balkans 21.1%
Souther Italy 9.1%
Eastern Europe 2.3%

Except only the Greece subgroup is high confidence, Albania does not appear at all and Bulgaria and Romania at medium confidence among the subgroups.

Myheritage results using the uploaded LivingDNA raw file:

Balkan: 18.4%
Southern Italian: 6.4%

Northern Italian: 1.4%

Moesan: > 40% Breton, > 40% Île-de-France, > 6% Franche-Comté (East France), >6% Normandy, > 3% Auvergne... (only origin south of the Loire)

Estimations DNA MyHeritage
first one:

57,7 % Breton, Scot, Irish & Welsh

32,5 % Iberic

7,9 % Western and Northern European : ? % Normandy + Northern France + Wallonie

? % Northwestern France (Brittany + Pays-d-Loire)

1,9 % Middle-Eastener

second one:

39,8 % Breton

24,7 % French

13,5 % English

6,3 % Scot/Welsh

6,2 % Northern Italian

2,9 % Germanic

1,9 % Portuguese

1,8 % Southern Italian

1,7 % Sardinian

Brittain DNA

24,0 % Northwestern European

21,0 % Basque-Iberian

20,0 % Balto-Slavic

11,0 % Anatolian-Caucasian

8,0 % Mediterranean

8,0 % Askhenaze Juif

7,0 % Finnish

1,0 % Steppe Turkic

on their PCA Brittain DNA Askhenazes plotted a bit more southeastern than Southern Italians/Sicilians, and a bit more southern than Greeks - I personally plotted at the crossing/no man's land of Northern France, Western Germany and Southern England clusters - their labellings put me a bit surprisngly "eastern" when their PCA seems very more sensible -

Concerning 'breton' of MyHeritage, I think it was comprised among British Celts before they had more data. ATW Bretons on more than a calcultion show close ties with southern England and with Ireland - Normands with southern England only -

myheritage is not good to be honest . especially since after the update

It's a question of trying to show more precision with inequal data. The trap is considering that DNA segments more common todate among a modern pop reflect an origin in this very modern pop when found among other modern pop's ; in reality these segments were part of a more widespred componant shared by a lot of pop's not too long ago and aren't the sign of a recent specific introgression.
The worst with them is their "historic" componants (Neolithic, BA, IA...) A mess!

For those of us who are mixed, MyHeritage is getting worse and worse. All the calculators say I'm 78% European, 19% Native American, and 3% Sub-Saharan African. But now MyHeritage adds mixed populations that only create more confusion and, in my case, represent 28.4%. Furthermore, those populations are thousands of miles away from my country. They only allow me to conclude that... I'm mixed! Surprise, surprise!
