There was a wonderful exhibit in New York a few years ago called, "The Lost World of Old Europe: the Danube Valley, 5,000 to 3,500 B.C." It was curated by David Anthony.
I thought it was an amazing exhibition.

As interesting to me as the figurines, and pottery was the trade in the spondylus shell.
