What kind of music genre do you like or dislike ?

Individual singers, composers or bands notwithstanding, what kind of musical genre do you like or dislike ? Please rate them from 1 to 5 as follow :

- 5 : Like very much almost anything of that genre (enough to have gooseskin when listening to your favourite of that genre)
- 4 : Like most of that genre
- 3 : Usually doesn't mind that genre (or very much case by case)
- 2 : Usually dislike that genre
- 1 : Strongly dislike most of that genre (enough to be annoyed/irritated)

Here is my rating in order of preference :

Classical (all from 16th to 20th century) => 5
Western military music (esp. 18th and 19th century) => 5
Colonial music (esp. 18th century) => 5

Western folk music => 4
Pop => 4
Jazz => 4
Ethnic/world music => 4
Mambo, Tango... => 4

Rock => 3
Hard Rock => 3
Salsa, Samba, Merengue... => 3
French Chanson => 3
Country => 3
Disco => 3
Flamenco => 3
Dance => 3
Funk => 3
Techno => 3

Hip Hop => 2

Rap => 1
 
I'll just list those in 1 or 2
Country and Western - 1 (I loath this type with a passion)
Rap - 1 (Vile rubbish that either uses remixes of decent tracks so the artist can make it sound better than it really is)
Reggae - 2 (Strangely I like Ska, which is an offshoot of Reggae)
Techno - 2 (If I want to hera a drum all day, I'll buy one)

Pop can range from 5 to 1, depending on the band. After all there is some very bland modern music about that doesn't even raise enough emotions in me to be bothered about it.

I also have a large collection of film scores which includes Ennio Morricone, Vangelis, Hans Zimmer, Nicola Piovani, Nino Rota, Alberto Iglesias, Henry Mancini, Michael Nyman, John Barry, Gabriel Yared, Leonard Bernstein, among others.

Oh come on Wilhelm... you rarely post in non-genetic forums. Probably unless there is some importance or correlation to a genetic topic. With your dislikes you might as well have posted African music, Native American music and Gypsy music, while your likes seem to be as European as they can get. That doesn't mean that I don't believe into your music taste or want to say that it's bad. But I don't think that a thread like "Where do police cars chase people for speeding?" would have had the same importance for you.
 
Well, everyone has it's own musical tastes.
 
I also like electronic music, but almost entirely from the 90's: Techno, trance, Acid, Goa, Hardcore, comercial Italodance or Euro House, etc. EBM, Industrial, New Beat and similar styles turn me crazy too.

I also like Hard rock (different variants), Italo-Disco (80's), electro, Synth Pop, New Wave, Gothic...there's too much I like.


I absolutely dislike reggetton, pachanga and most of the Spanish music.
