Hello!

I received my Y-Dna (67 markers) DYS values from FTDna, but I can't predict my subclade.

I'm R-M269, but I don't know how to understand to which subclade I belong.

U are from north italy??
---------------------------
Sei del nord??

According to some haplotypes you could be R1b1a2a1a1b4 (R1b-L238/S182)

Thanks Paschalis!

I saw on the R1b page of this site that R1b-L238/S182 is "nordic"... what does it mean?

I thought, at first, as I am a northern Italian, to belong to U152 subclade...

email chris from the link below , he is helpful on questions regarding only alpine people

http://www.familytreedna.com/public/Alpine_DNA_Project_AlpGen_Genealogy/

he can check the age of your genes , well some.

Nice city Bergamo, very wide streets, old town up on the hill, which is fortified ( walled )and separate from new town.

Thanks Zanipolo! Yes, Bergamo Alta is a beautiful city, but, actually, I don't live in Bergamo. My paternal-line ancestors were from Bergamo (c.ca 1540).

Hi! I am not a guy but I had the y chromosome recently tested on my brother. It said he was R1b. We are trying to narrow down at least the surname of my father's unknown father (and my parents and I already did test with ancestry.com). I have lots of clues but seems like his y chromosome line may have come through Canada and before that Northwestern Ireland.

He did the 44 marker test. I am having his subclade tested now but seems to me he has a very common R1b subclade in Ireland (from what I have read). Does anyone know how to tell?

Also what are some good places for me to post his results? (to get any possible clues for my unknown paternal grandpa?). Thanks
