I used the GEDmatch k12b results input into the Dec_Anciant_k12b, was the only difference the spreadsheet populations or is it a completely different calculator? Iv tried those indy downloadable calcs, but I cant figure out how to use them and am afraid of computer viruses.


After the validity of that calculator I used was questioned I went back and did it again to make sure. My distances were all exactly the same but my single changed. Very strange.

Torzio: 9 Segments, pretty good, I got 7.5 with Otzi. The calculators for Otzi are, in my view, regardless of the distances, are showing that Otzi is closest to modern Sardians, which as Duarte noted in post #969, is what the Research papers on Otzi document. So it does appear the calculators are documenting Otzi's closest modern relatives are Sardinians.

I don't know if you remember when the Otzi genome first came out we discussed here how the first analyses and PCAs showed that after Sardinia, he was closest to Sicily.

I remember speculating too that given the copper ax he carried his might have been a line coming from the Balkans in the Chalcolithic, and here we go, the Bronze Age Chalcolithic shows up.

The usual suspects attacked the whole idea mercilessly. Of course.:)

Sorry. I wasn't clear. I'm looking for the Dodecad K12b coordinates for Otzi. I don't see it on the published list on vahaduo.

I'll keep looking to see if it's on Jovialis' or Duarte's lists in my files.

Check that you didn't put the Punt K12 coordinates in the Dodecad K12 ancient and modern calculator or vice versa. From gedmatch you have to get the PUNT K12 coordinates and put them into the new Punt K12 ancient calculator at Vahaduo or the PUNT K12 modern.
