Rambouillet Castle.

Introduction

Rambouillet is the summer residence of the French president. Formerly a royal castle, it witnessed the death of Francis I, while Louis XVI and Napoleon both sojourned there.

Opening Hours & Admission

The château is open daily (except Tuesdays) all year round. Visits are by guided tour only, which start at 10:00 am, 11:00 am, 2:00 pm, 3:00 pm, 4:00 pm. From April to September there is an extra tour from 5:00 pm. Annual closing days are 1st January, 1st May, 1st and 11th November, and 25th December. The castle is also closed exceptionally during presidential stays.

Admission is 8.5 € for adults and 5.5 € for concessions. Admission is free for children under 18 years old and 18 to 25 residents of an EEA country (EU + Norway and Iceland).
