Introduction
Built in the 16th century and refurbishe in the 18th, the Château de La Bourbansais has long been renowned for its formal French gardens. It now houses a private zoos with over 500 animals, including lions, Siberian tigers, giraffes, zebras, camels, monkeys and wolves.
Opening Hours & Admission
The castle, gardens and zoo are open daily all year round. From 1st April to 30th September, the zoo is open from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. The castle can only be visited by guided tours starting at 11:15 am, 2:00, 3:00, 4:00 and 5:00 pm. In the low season (October to March), the zoo is open from 1:30 tp 5:30 pm, and castle tours are only held on Sundays at 3:00 and 4:00 pm.
Tickets to the zoo, which include the castle gardens and playground for children, costs 18 € for adults and 13 € for children aged 3 to 12 years old. Guided tours of the castle, which also include admission to the castle gardens and playground, is 18 € for adults and 13 € for children. Combined tickets covering everything cost respectively 22.5 € and 15.5 €.
